LOVEFiLM Review: How to train your Dragon (2010)

The son of a Viking chief must capture a dragon in order to mark his passage into manhood and prove his worthiness to the tribe in directors Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois’ adaptation of Cressida Cowell’s popular children’s book. Gerard Butler, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse provide voices for the DreamWorks Animation production.

Ah, How To Train Your Dragon is a stunning film. It’s one of the best animation films I’ve seen and it can rival any of the best Pixar creations. The story was great and original and like I said, it looks stunning. Everything was so crisp, vibrant and striking.

My only gripe was Jay Baruchel as the lead voice for the boy. I like Baruchel but I dont think his voice suited the character but this was minor. His was the only voice I recognised out of the cast (without reading).

How To Train Your Dragon is well worth a watch if you like animation. It’s one of the best Dreamworks films as well.
